Are you a music theory evangelist? Do you love learning and inspiring others to deepen their music theory knowledge? Then this position may be perfect for you! AfterWork Theater is looking for a Teacher's Assistant to help run an online course on Music Theory while infusing it with fun, creativity and self-expression. The course will take place on Tuesdays starting August 4th, from 7-9pm EDT, for eight consecutive weeks.
Essential components for the position:
–Fluency using Zoom
–Strong organizational skills
–Notetaking and facilitation skills
–Ability to teach a few components in the course (Jazz theory, non-western music)
–Familiarity with Noteflight, Soundtrap, and Musictheory.net
–Familiarity with Google Drive and Gmail
–Flexibility and an open mind
This is an ideal position for a grad student, someone just starting out or someone who wants to get their foot in the door with a great theater-for-fun organization. You will be supporting an experienced Instructor for this class who is also one of AfterWork Theater’s most highly-regarded leaders. This is a paid contractor position ($400) that will also expose you to a community of some of the kindest and most eager-to-learn adults. Because this is an online class, you can be located anywhere!
