French Woods Scene Shop Foreman

Reports to Head of Theater and Production Manager  

Key Responsibilities Include:

Managing a crew of 8 to 16 Designing and Construction for musicals and plays in 3 of 5 theaters including a large 3/4 Thrust, a large Proscenium w/fly rail and a theater in the round over the course of a 14 day period

Creating work lists and distributing build and crew responsibilities

Training staff and campers in standard scene shop safety and run crew protocol Set up, crew and strike for various productions, evening activities, concerts throughout the summer

Organizing responsibilities and projects for campers ages 12 and up  

Successful Candidates should have the following experience:

Design training Experience and knowledge of standard theatrical flats and platforms.

Set construction

Set Painting

Working with children or in an educational environment  

French Woods is Americas leading performing arts facility where every child is unique. Children choose their own individual schedule, from more than 80 activities in music, theater, art, dance, circus, magic, sports, waterfront, and science. Activities are run by certified teachers and counselor specialists and are tailored to the child’s level of skill and interest. We offer recreation and beginner to professional caliber instruction in all activity areas, with a 2 to 1 camper to staff ratio, so every child gets lots of individual attention.

Dates run from the beginning of June through the end of August.  

Salary, room, and board. Families may be accommodated.
