About Rattlestick
Founded in 1994, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater produces ambitious plays to inspire empathy and provoke conversation that will lead to positive social change. Rattlestick has a deep commitment to producing fierce works that challenge and stimulate audiences to confront the complexities of our culture. Notable productions include Diana Oh’s {mylingerieplay}, Dael Orlandersmith’s Until the Flood, Samuel D. Hunter’s The Few and Lewiston/Clarkston, Cori Thomas’ Lockdown, Jonathan Tolins’ Buyer and Cellar, Lucy Thurber’s The Hilltown Plays, Ren Dara Santiago’s The Siblings Play, and Martyna Majok’s Ironbound.
Rattlestick produces mainstage productions; develops work by Middle Voice (Rattlestick’s apprentice company); creates artistic development opportunities for artists to hone their craft; and provides opportunities for students to engage with innovative work through residencies, fellowships, and special performances. Rattlestick serves approximately 8,000 audience members and 400 artists each year.
Principal Responsibilities
Content Curation and Monitoring of Social Media:
Design content to be shared across social channels.
Schedule social media updates and regularly monitor social media platforms
Help shape the company's brand voice on social media.
Manage email marketing campaigns. (eNewsletter)
Graphic Design
Design for various programming and events (including digital and in-print)
Basic video editing of recorded Zoom events
Design playbills
Qualifications
At least one years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, with a demonstrated track record of strategy creation and implementation (not-for-profit sector experience a major plus);
Familiarity with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, etc);
Attention to detail;
Experience overseeing the approval, creation, production, and distribution of collateral materials;
Ability to develop, manage and work effectively within tight budgets;
Deep understanding of, and experience with, mission-driven organizational branding;
Superb writing, editing, and spelling;
Highly organized, with particularly strong skills at meeting deadlines and multitasking projects;
Proactive approach, professional flexibility, and a positive attitude;
Consummate relationship-building skills;
Ability to produce work calmly and quickly in a fast-paced, rigorous environment.
Compensation
$20/hour, 15 hours per week, working hours can be flexible. This is a part-time position that works in collaboration with a Marketing/Community Outreach Manager, and reports to the Managing Director. The position will start as soon as possible.
