L.A. Drama Crix Give Flower Drum Song Only One Nod; Crivello, Sills Nommed

1993 Tony winner Anthony Crivello (Kiss of the Spider Woman) and 1998 Tony nominee Douglas Sills (The Scarlet Pimpernel) will face off at the Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle Awards April 1 at the Colony Theatre. So will Jason Robert Brown, Robert Lindsay Nassif and Stephen Sondheim and Richard Rodgers — Brown for his work with the play Kimberly Akimbo, Nassif for The Flight of the Lawnchair Man from 3hree, and Sondheim and Rodgers for Do I Hear a Waltz?.

The Broadway-bound Flower Drum Song, however, received only one nomination, for Best Costumes. The Greenway Court Theatre's revival of They Shoot Horses, Don't They? garnered the most nominations with eight. Up for Best Production honors are Big River at Deaf West Theater, The Birthday Party at Matrix Theatre, Orson's Shadow at Black Dahila Theater and They Shoot Horses, Don't They?.
