Tony Award winner Victoria Clark will join Broadway veteran John Hillner and Andy Karl for a staged reading of the 1983 Maltby and Shire musical Baby Nov. 16 at CAP 21.

Richard Maltby, Jr., the musical's Tony Award-winning lyricist and original director, will stage the sold-out 7:30 PM reading at the Shop. Musical director is Kevin Stites.

In addition to Clark (The Light in the Piazza), Hillner (La Cage) and Karl (9 to 5), the principal cast of Baby will also feature Kathy Voytko (The Pirate Queen), Jenny Fellner (Pal Joey) and Nick Blaemire (Cry-Baby).

Completing the cast of the reading will be Cathryn Basile, Rebecca Eichenberger, Kate Fitzgibbons, Rita Harvey, MaryAnn Hu, Scott Mikita, Dan Petrotta, Matthew Stocke and Dennis Stowe.

Baby features music by David Shire, lyrics by Maltby, Jr. and a book by Sybille Pearson. The musical focuses on three couples of different backgrounds and ages, each of whom are expecting a baby. Baby earned seven Tony Award nominations including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book and Best Direction. Popular songs from the musical include "The Story Goes On," "Patterns," "Two People in Love," "I Chose Right," "I Want It All," "At Night She Comes Home to Me" and "What Could Be Better?"

To be placed on the waiting list for the reading, phone (212) 807-0202. The Shop is located at 18 West 18th Street, 6th floor in Manhattan.
