Midtown International Theatre Festival Announces Award Nominees

OPA!, Exit Cuckoo, Kidnapping Laura Linney and Love, Incorporated are among the 2008 Midtown International Theatre Festival Award nominees.

The MITF Awards will be presented Sept. 5 at 8 PM at the Bleecker Street Theatre. The evening will also feature highlights from nominated productions, including the musical Cleopatra: A Life Unparalleled, which earned ten MITF Award nominations.

The 9th annual Midtown International Theatre Festival ran July 14-Aug. 10, comprising over 50 works, including eight musicals, ten solo works and three dance pieces.

Awards will be handed out in 32 categories, in addition to the Producer's Award, which honors the best-selling MITF production; and the Congeniality Award, acknowledging the company that honored the Festival regulations and guidelines most cooperatively.

    The Trip to Bahia Blanca from "Striptease into the Trip to Bahia Blanca"
