Description
|
THE FOUNDRY THEATRE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM is dedicated to bringing students and early career professionals into the arenas of professional theatre development and production as well as into the areas of community outreach programs. Because The Foundry is dedicated to developing a diverse and intergenerational artistic community, our commitment to young artists and young theatre professionals is paramount to the fulfillment of our mission. Your involvement with The Foundry has potential for long-term employment and project development; three of our previous interns became staff members at The Foundry.
At the present time we are looking to fill the following internship positions:
General Management and Producing Intern:
The Foundry Theatre seeks an administrative intern, position available immediately. Ideal candidates will have strong organizational and communication skills, reliability, attention to detail, familiarity with Microsoft computer programs, and a strong desire to learn about arts administration in a team-oriented atmosphere. This is a non-paid position offering substantial work experience, an introduction to the off-Broadway theatre scene and a flexible schedule (15+ hours/week). The Foundry currently has two upcoming productions: Free Range: A Community Performance Feast, an event that brings 10 commissioned playwrights together with local farmers for an evening of food and performance; and The Myopia/Plays by David Greenspan, to be performed at Atlantic Stage 2. This intern should be prepared to be extensively involved in a hands on capacity on both productions.
The Foundry also seeks an intern for its upcoming "On The Table" program. This program combines artists with social activist groups to open dialogue and process between the arts and social justice. Interns should be passionate about the arts and community outreach. Responsibilities will include research, writing, grassroots marketing, and production assisting at the On the Table Events.
Finally, future internship opportunities will arise in Marketing and Development. If a candidate has a special interest in these areas, please feel free to make it known in your application.
