A 2-day weekend intensive combining working on your musical theater audition songs, scenes/sides from musicals, and a session with a major theatrical agent.
Jamibeth, one of Broadway's top casting directors, formerly of Johnson-Liff Casting (previously casting director of Cats, Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera , Les Miserables, Sunset Boulevard, etc...) continues her work as a casting director at her own casting office as well as working as a stage director. This is her 14th year casting in NYC. Jamibeth has been teaching this class for 9 years and there have been many success stories!
Currently, she is casting many readings, workshops and recordings of new plays and musicals, regional theater, and more including the new musical drama, WARSAW, which is being developed for a commercial run. Recent and Current Casting Projects: OPA! at Queens Theater In The Park, Developmental readings of The Green Room and Get Got, 1812, and two operas.
Currently, Jamibeth is serving as Artistic Director For Musicals and Casting Director for the Midtown International Theatre Festival as well.

Jamibeth is directing regional theater, NY theater, and many workshops of new musicals. Recent directing projects include Warsaw at the New York Musical Theatre Festival and Safra Hall and Do I Hear A Waltz? at Arvada Center in Denver. She was assistant director of The Caine Mutiny Court Martial on Broadway and also many operas with major companies.
Jamibeth along with the class musical directors will work with you on choosing and fine tuning your audition material and give you valuable coaching tips and suggestions. A class not to be missed!
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7th,
- 11:30am-6:00pm - Work on 2 musical song selections of your choice, as well as a real audition sides from a Broadway musical. You bring music and we will provide the sides. Improve the presentation of your songs and your cold reading skills.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8th -
11:00am-2:00pm - Bring your music you worked on with Jamibeth on day 1 to present to the agent, in addition to bringing your audition book and your scene. Plus, question and answer sessions on both days!
