Description

Boston College Theatre Department seeks to fill a full-time, non tenured position in stage movement and dance to begin September 2010. The successful candidate will teach movement for actors, dance studies, choreography and dance technique. Experience in improvisatory movement approaches and such codified techniques as Viewpoints, Laban Effort-Shape Theory or other disciplines are essential. Teaching duties will also include ballet, jazz, tap or modern. Additionally, s/he will coordinate the part-time dance faculty, schedule classes, arrange for guest artists and interface with students. An MA, MFA and/or Ph.D. in dance or theatre plus at least three years of teaching experience in a college, conservatory or professional studio is required. Professional performance and/or choreographic experience are highly desirable. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
